Speaking at a burial ceremony on Monday at Magombo, the legislator said the President’s remarks were a blow to freedom of press and would ultimately demoralize journalist’s is their routine of disseminating information whether in Print, broadcast or online.

He urged the government to be bold and point out where they think the media has not covered news well without necessarily embarrassing the entire fourth estate.

“Our country is what it is at the moment due to the contribution of the fourth estate. I am really disappointed by the continued onslaught by the Head of state on the members of the Forth estate,” he said.

“Of course the media may not be right always but I think Journalist do their best to air credible and authentic news without bias. Jubilee should seek better approach rather than antagonizing the media fraternity through public forums,” he said.

Mr. Bosire said continued assault of the media by government is a clear indication that the government was working hard from having some issues concealed from members of the public.

“A clean government should not even bother to insult the media as we are seeing. This means that there is something sinister that they are hiding. But I appeal to them to support the media industry for the sake of transparency,” he added.
