Through former councillor Malachi Ombui, the residents expressed their dissatisfaction over the slow progress in the construction of feeder roads.

“Our region has been subjected to discrimination by the county government and it’s important that the administration explains why it is so. Just because we did not favour him in the 2013 polls, it doesn’t mean that we get secluded,” he said.

“Other regions have good connectivity of roads which have eased transportation of goods and farm produce. The county government should desist from subjecting us to unprecedented discriminations,” added Ombui during a meeting on Wednesday morning in Gesima.

However, in a quick rejoinder, the County Secretary Eric Onchana on the county official website indicated a planned renovation and construction of a host of roads starting October in Kitutu Masaba.

“We have received complaints from a section of residents especially from Kitutu but it should be put into perspective that the Mechanical Trust Fund (MTF) will be working on various roads in the region starting this October,” he said.
