After leading his Jubilee Party elected leaders in a strategy meeting in Nairobi ahead of the first seating of the 12th Parliament, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have unveiled a team that will spearhead its agenda in the National Assembly.
Justin Muturi who served in the previous Parliament has been retained in the same capacity. However, he will have a new deputy in Moses Cheboi, the Kuresoi North MP.
Muturi's deputy in the 11th Parliament is current Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso.
Garissa Township MP-elect Aden Duale has retained his Majority leader position and he will be deputized by Kitutu Chache MP Jimmy Angwenyi.
Duale's former deputy Taveta MP Naomi Shaban has been demoted.
Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali has been rewarded with a Majority Whip position and he will be deputized by former Runyenjes MP Cecily Mbarire who lost in her bid for Embu Governor is a nominated MP.
For Washiali, his appointment was expected considering that the lawmaker is Jubilee Party's point man in the former Western Province where NASA enjoys huge following.
