Kivutha promised that his Muungano party will merge with Kalonzo's Wiper to help the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy Cord co-principal get the nomination for the presidency.

He added that the Kamba community need not be left behind as other communities and regions are merging for a common cause.

With that in mind, Kivutha said that Kalonzo is the leader Kambas look up to and thus will support him in the race against ODM party leader Raila Odinga and Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula who are also vying as to get the Cord coalition ticket for the presidency in 2017.

Reports have had their way around the nation that the three co-principals could go separate ways or better still form other coalition agreements with different politicians following the recent rift that is threatening to tear the coalition apart.

In the recent past, Kalonzo has faced challenges for Kamba supremacy from Machakos county governor Alfred Mutua who has sworn allegiance with the ruling coalition Jubilee.
