The Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB) has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring every student joining form one across the country has a textbook.

KLB is among publishers that were awarded contracts to supply books in the government's free textbook program.

Speaking after launching distribution of books to form students at Moi Girls High school in Eldoret town on Wednesday, KLB director Sammy Chepkwony said they have published 18 million books that will be given to form one student.

Chepkwony further said before the end of this week, they expect to have distributed all the books.

"The government's policy is one book per child and we have published enough textbooks to be given out," noted Mr. Chepkwony.

"We expect that by tomorrow (Thursday), all the books will have been given out to the students joining form one," he added.KLB has been tasked to supply Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry books for the form ones.
