Last week, the workers decried poor pay and accused KMC managing commissioner Joseph Learano of being behind the underpayment.

7 employees were arrested and questioned at Athi River police station for inciting other workers to boycott job.

Learano denied allegations that some workers are paid high than others.

“There is no selective payment among employees. We are working on a review of salaries which will be implemented soon because as of now there are no funds to increase salaries,” he said.

He asked workers to be patient as the issue of payment will be addressed.

“I am urging workers not to be incited by some individuals to boycott duty. We will address the payment issues to ensure better pay,’ he added.

Learano threatened that workers inciting will be sacked and replaced with new ones who are ready to work.
