The St. Marys Hospital row has taken another twist as the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists, and Dentists Union (KMPDU) has taken an interest in the dispute.Speaking in the hospital's compound, KMPDU's secretary-general Ouma Oluga expressed deep concerns about how the events leading up to the evictions that happened.''We are very concerned about what has happened. The hospital must take responsibility even though they are saying that auctioneers were responsible for the evictions. There has to be compensation for the mental torture suffered by the hospital's staff,'' Oluga said.Media reports indicate that auctioneers in the company of armed police burst into the compound of the hospital and evicted the staff in an inhumane manner.The hospital has been locked in a management wrangle that has persisted for over seven years. The auctioneers say they were acting on a court order.
