The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) has threatened to mobilise its members to go on strike unless the government pays medical lecturers their allowances.Outspoken KMPDU secretary-general Ouma Oluga in a press conference yesterday said that medical lecturers had still not yet been paid their allowances by the various universities.''We struck a deal that said that the allowances would be paid in January last year. One year has now passed yet the allowances have not yet been paid,'' he said.He called on the government to pay the allowances by the end of this month failure to which he would call for a strike.
