The project is said to have cost the Mvita CDF kitty a total of 55 million shillings.

Speaking on Monday at KMTC grounds, the MP promised to set up more buildings at the institution.

"Through the CDF kitty, we are looking forward to establishing a state of the art laboratory in the institution which will be worth Sh5 million. We also intent to come up with a plan to build dormitories where the money we receive as rent will be used to pay fees for needy children,” said Nassir.

The MP also said there was an urgent need by the kitty to set aside two million shillings every year to cater for fees arrears for needy students pursuing nursing courses at the college.

The Mvita CDF also signed an MOU with the KMTC administration, where 30 per cent of students admitted at the college must be drawn from Mvita Constituency, Mombasa County and Coast region.
