Speaking on Tuesday in Nakuru, KNCHR vice chair George Morara said as much as the Kenya's concern of the heavy burden of asylum seekers is understandable, sending away refugees is against the human rights, adding that the action will aggravate harm to the families of the refugees.

‘As KNCHR, we are working on a comprehensive statement on closure of the refugee camps. Being a country bound by the Geneva Conventions of Internally Displaced Persons of Refugees, it’s wrong to take people back to suffer abuse and violations,’ he said.

The KNCHR vice Chair also added that they had already completed a report titled; 'Country under siege'.

According to the report, 97 police officers have been killed in the past three years while 180,300 people displaced with 845 houses set a blaze in the North Rift.
