The Kenya National Examination Council has trashed reports by circulating that some people could be in possession of ‘genuine’ KCSE Mathematics Paper one and Chemistry Paper one of the ongoing form four examinations.
In a press statement, Prof George Magoha, who is the Knec chairperson, confirmed that all the papers were firmly secure and that not even a single case of exam leakage has been reported.
“Knec wishes to notify the public that we have carried out a thorough scrutiny and confirmed that the alleged papers that were doing rounds were not any closer to the genuine exam papers that 2016 candidates sat for on Monday,” stated Magoha.
Magoha further added that the alleged fake papers did not have the slightest likeness to the questions that have been set and printed as was revealed after the actual papers for day one were opened.
The Knec boss also said the security provisions of the ongoing Kcse examination were imitation-proof, of high level and too sophisticated for anybody to copy.
He advised parents and teachers who would be 'willing' to spend their money to buy the papers being circulated by con-men and con women would be doing so at their own risk, reiterating they would be arrested by a networked team of observers assembled by the Government.
“Kenyans should not fall prey to the clear con game perpetrated by unscrupulous businessmen out to make a catch by luring parents and students. We have tough measures in place to curb exam cheating,” added Magoha.
