Speaking in Matuu town on Thursday, Ngui stated that the Kenya National Examination Council has been in a mess under the immediate outgoing leadership.

"I fully support the decision by the Education Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang'i as the KNEC has messed up examination principals in our country," said Ngui.

Ngui further stated that the newly appointed committee group should set and maintain high integrity standards.

"In the past, students have been punished and exams cancelled but the problem of cheating in examination has continues but with the tough action we expect exam irregularities to stop," he added.

This follows an announcement by the Education Cabinet Secretary in a press briefing that saw nine Knec officials sacked.

According to Matiang'i, the action was as a result of increased examination irregularities adding up to 5,000 cases in a span of a year.

The Interior Security Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has also ordered the nine officials to report to the police station and record statements in line with the last years examination irregularities.
