A legislator has called for Education CS Jacob Kaimenyi to hold responsible the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) officials and the police accountable for leaking national examinations.
Speaking in Thika Town over the weekend, area MP Alice Ng’ang’a said that the examinations body has been punishing the students after the leakage yet the officials are the custodians of the same.
She added that the exam leaks during transportation where the invigilators, supervisors and police are involved mostly and they are supposed to be prosecuted for the acts as the students are innocent.
Ng’ang’a told Kaimenyi that he should not pretend not to know the criteria used in leaking the exam papers each year.
“I was a student too same as Kaimenyi and we know that everyone wanted to pass these exams. If given a chance no one would reject the offer to pass without struggle so Kaimenyi act on what you know and stop lying to Kenyans that the students are the ones leaking the exams,” she said.
The MP said that the police, instead of guarding the examinations they help in leaking the examinations and they should be prosecuted too.
