Twelve doctors from the Kenyatta National Hospital were on Wednesday shown the door for failing to resume work after a directive from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The 12 medical practitioners were sacked while 48 others stand to face disciplinary action as the strike entered its 95th day.

While addressing Turkana residents, the president proclaimed that the government would resort to employing other doctors if the worst came to the worst.

"If you do not go back to work you will go home and we will employ other doctors. Go back to work as we discuss your salary increment. If you continue striking, it will be unacceptable," he said (as reported by The Standard).

Meru Governor had also declared that sacking of individuals would be an option if they still insisted on boycotting work.

From the looks of things, the government heads appear to be living up to their promises.
