Rugby is a game that requires physical fitness and stamina. Kenya is known for its rugby playing prowess, having featured in all sevens rugby tournaments in the recent past.
However, few individuals actually know how the game is played and scores awarded.
Each team starts the match with 15 players (for the 15 side) and 7 (for the sevens team) on the field and seven or eight substitutes. Players in a team are then divided into eight forwards (two more than in rugby league) and seven backs.
Here is a glimpse on how the scores are awarded in rugby:
1. Try - four points. A try is worth four points - the maximum number of points you can score in one go in rugby league.
2. Goal kick - two points. A team is awarded a goal kick after a try has been scored.
3. Penalty - two points.
4. Drop goal - one point.
