Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has told the civil society groups in the county to first familiarize with how the county government operates before hipping criticism on his administration.
Governor Mbugua has urged his county resident to ignore biased information being spread by some ‘malicious’ people that his leadership is of poor quality, and instead join him in developing the county.
Speaking when he met representatives of pressure groups in his office on Thursday morning, Mbugua said that many groups have been attacking and criticising his government aimlessly and asked them to stop being misled by politicians.
He said that he is open to criticism but the criticism must be objective and aimed at helping the county instead of causing confusion among residents.
“As I have always stated, my government is open to criticism at any given time, but I want to call upon the civil society to stop this habit of being too quick to criticise before even getting facts about what they are criticising. There is a way in which we operate as a government and it would be better if the civil society familiarised itself with our systems because this will enable us work together without being on opposing ends all the time,” said Mbugua.
Mbugua called on the pressure groups to be part of the teams providing solutions to the problems facing the county instead of creating more conflicts, confusion and problems to the residents.
“If we can only work as one team in providing solutions to our problems then we will go far, but if we keep on pointing fingers at each other we will do nothing,” added Governor Mbugua.
The pressure groups representatives had paid a courtesy call to the governor to offer their views about the relocation of hawkers from the town’s Central Business District (CBD).
