Sometime back,  it was rumoured that Nairobi's Umoja estate would spread it's nightlife activities to the neighbouring Dohnholm estate.

Three years down the line,  the estate has lived to expectation and significantly turned not only Dohnholm, but also the neighbouring Buruburu, Kayole, Komarocks, and Ruai estates into famous destinations for sellers and buyers in the prostitution business.

Business in the area runs round the clock and the party never ends.

However,  "goodies" are normally put on display from around 10pm in Umoja 1 area, around  the PCEA , Catholic and the Deliverance Churches.

Sex in Umoja sells like street side mahindi choma or as popcorn at movie theatres.

Egesa area is rather popular for  hallpacking its corners with cheap and easy-going prostitutes who charge as low as Sh20 for a marathon of lungula.

Talking about prostitution in the area is not a thing if we omit the famous Pewa street.

Just like it's Swahili name "Pewa" which means 'to be given', sex is peddled on the streets like groundnuts and freely given to the highest budder, some of which doesn't go beyond 100 shillings.

The name however means 'to drink alcohol' among the locals who frequent the street.

Pewa street is strategically located  near the  Umoja Market and boasts of at least 10 bars/night clubs spaced less than 50 yards from each other.

The place offers condusive environment for, not just  alcohol, but also young women ready to be 'chips fungad'.

Club Paris, along the street, is specifically notorious, since individuals can drink from 5pm until 8 in the morning when you can leave at will.

Police officers occasionally take patrol in the area but nothing much is done to curb the drinking or the prostitution since they are rumoured to be silenced by occasional "Kitu kidogo".

Sex workers, most of whom are  young women, line up on the street and can be picked whenever one needs them at any time of the night.
