The county government of Kisii through the Ministry of Health has upped its fight against the spread of HIV/Aids.
County director of Health Dr Geoffrey Ontomu said all health centres across the county have been supplied with adequate anti-retroviral drugs and urged residents living with the virus to visit the centres to access the medicines.
Dr Ontomu added that by taking the drugs, it will help improve their health as well as prolong their lives.
“Our health centres are well equipped with drugs, we urge all people living with the virus to visit them to access the medicines,” he said.
He also challenged residents to go for HIV testing to know their statuses adding that once they know their positions, they will be advised on the way forward.
“It is important to know your HIV status, I am advising county residents to get tested so that those found infected will be put under the ARVs programme,” said the doctor.
