The Nakuru Knowledge Ambassadors drive was officially unveiled on Friday at the Kenya National Library Service (KNLS) Nakuru area office.

The team comprising  stakeholders from local universities of St Paul’s University, Kabarak, Mt Kenya, Egerton, Laikipia and tertiary institutions will be spearheaded by the Kenya Library and Information Services Consortium (KLISC), a Nairobi-based organisation that aims to create awareness in institutions and develop strategies to enhance greater access and use of electronic resources otherwise known as e-resources.

Brian Ineah of St Paul’s University Nakuru campus will be the president of Nakuru edition drive. 

Egerton University’s Evelyne Onyango is the moderator. The organisation is see officials volunteer in different capacities in the committees under (KLISC).

KLISC Nakuru secretary, Purity Mutuku, urged university students in Nakuru to engage with the organisation as volunteers so as to be equipped with skills and techniques that will enable them get good returns from the invested capital.

“Get to familiarise with the committees available in building the consortium, so as to ensure we get good returns from invested capital. Let’s help institutions get best results,” said Mutuku.

KLISC vision is to a leading library consortium with unlimited access to knowledge and information.
