Chairman John Bii said the Union's call for dialogue to address the concerns has been ignored by the government.

"We want the Uasin Gishu County government to effect delayed promotions, re-designate deserving officers, advertise the county director of nursing services position and to regularise employment of Economic Stimulus Program (ESP) as ordered by the court," he said.

Speaking to journalists at the Eldoret District Hospital on Tuesday, Bii said they will mobilise their members to paralyse medical services until their voice is heard.

"We are really disappointed, despite writing to the county government seeking updates on the raised issues, we read lack of interest and commitment in getting amicable solution since no one has replied to us," be added.

He added that they are open to dialogue in the interim period of 14 days up to 26th September 2016 at noon before the strike kicks off on 27th September 2016.

"This time we are serious, we cannot work for the government that is not committed to cordial working relationship," he added.

He vowed to mobilise their members to vote in leaders who have their problems at heart in the forthcoming general election.

"We are tired of supporting a government that doesn't care about our members, it's time we voted them out," he added.
