Speaking on Friday at Kisii cultural hall during a morning interview with Egesa Fm about the unrest in schools, Kisii South KNUT branch executive secretary Geoffrey Mogire challenged the politicians more so those from Kisii county to stop politicising education matters.

“I would like to urge the politicians to stop politicising the education sector instead let them support the sector,” he said.

The Executive secretary also said the fire incident at Iterio Boys which gutted down seven dorms is a result of politics in the area by linking the Bonchari Mp Zebedeo Opore to the incident.

He also condemned TSC for interdicting teachers over the fire incidents without proper and credible investigations.

“The TSC has already interdicted the principal of Iterio, but there was no sufficient investigation which was done since students were not given time to testify what took place,” said Mogire.

He also said that the fire might be caused by some people who stormed into the school wearing a mask and destroyed the properties.

“How can the students know that they were to be denied an opportunity of watching the ball match and buy petrol in advance, to me it is ironical," noted Mogire.
