Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) Chepkoilel executive secretary Sammy Bor has urged Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to stop transferring head teachers away from their home counties.

He said the process was negatively impacting on the social fabric of families.

"When one is transferred outside their county of birth, it will interfere with the base and stability of their family," he said in Eldoret town, Tuesday.

"This has led to family breakage and as union leaders we won't allow our members to suffer," he added.

He also faulted TSC  for  posting new teachers recruits away of their families.

"This is a punishment to the teachers and will lead to divorce since they will be away from their families," noted Bor.

Bor called upon parents to take care of their children by instilling good morals instead of living for teachers to perform their duties.
