Various teachers union heads in Kisii County and the country as a whole have been called upon to stop politicising education matters as that would compromise performance in schools.
Speaking at Nduru mixed secondary, businessman Evans Moracha said they have witnessed a number of unions heads compromising education by mixing it with politics.
He furthermore urged KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion to stop politicising education matters and instead focus on ways of improving learning standards in the country.
“Union heads should focus on ensuring the levels of education is raised and support the government initiative instead of piling back,” he added.
He said if the heads continue applying politics when tackling education issues then the children will be on the losing side.
Moracha called upon the government to also ensure they give children and teachers a good environment for better performance realisation.
“The national government should ensure they pump more money into the education sector so that there can be improved results in the long run,” he added.
