Koibatek Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) branch secretary general Stanley Kiptis has floored Baringo governor Benjamin Cheboi, to clinch Jubilee Party, gubernatorial nomination ticket.
Preliminary results from Eldama-Ravine which is his homeground put Kiptis ahead with 123,505 votes against Cheboi's 6,682 votes.
In Baringo central, the first Baringo governor garnered 4,964 votes against Kiptis' 13,805 votes.
The Knut branch boss' supporters celebrated Tuesday morning, after realising the big margin between the two, saying they needed a change in the county.Elsewhere, Mogotio MP Hellen Sambili lost to her rival Daniel Tutoek who garnered 11,994 votes, against Sambili's 6,015 votes.
