The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) has maintained that school heads are not supposed to collect exam papers for their r during espective institution.
Knut Secretary General Willison Sosion instead wants the heads to be paid for supervising the exams.
Speaking on Saturday, in Nyeri County during a funds drive to foot the hospital bill of Nyeri County KNUT Chairman Patrick Karenga’s mother, Sossion said that the responsibility of school heads is to supervise examinations and not to give security to examination papers.
“There is no way the head teachers can leave the station even for 15 or 30 minutes during exams. That will be a very insecure centre and in case of anything, the head teacher will be blamed. We don’t want that,” he said.
