Bor said that all teachers who were working in the area of the North Eastern part of Kenya should be referred to work elsewhere in the country.

Speaking to journalists in Cheptiret in Uasin Gishu County on Tuesday, Bor insisted that these teachers would not return until their safety is guaranteed by the government.

“Teachers only use chalk, they are not armed. If Al-Shaabab can kill armed soldiers, what about teachers,” said Bor.

He accused Moi University Vice Chancellor of going against the agreement of the county leaders and security agencies that all Garissa attack victims should be vetted before being admitted at the institution.

“It was compulsory for those students to be vetted in order to identify those who have hidden terrorism agenda,” said Bor.

David Chirchir, the sub county education director, said that pupils should be trained on how to distinguish different dangerous sounds.

“Students and workers should be trained, especially watchmen should be trained on how to handle security issues,” said Chirchir.

Chirchir urged the government to take charge and provide security to all the citizens in the country, especially learning institutions, which are most targeted by militia.

The county education director was speaking during an educational forum that brought together primary school head teachers from Wareng sub county.

The forum was converged by the sub county education director to plan on how to improve performance in the region and sensitize institutions on matters of public land.
