Kenya National Union of Teachers Chepkoilel branch executive secretary Sammy Bor has urged IEBC to relocate polling stations situated in schools ahead of October 26 presidential election.
He said during the August 8 general election, some schools incurred expenses after repairing equipment destroyed during by hooligans.
"We want to urge IEBC to relocate the polling stations to elsewhere away from school since we are not ready to incur any other damage as witnessed in the previous elections. The equipment destroyed include sockets, doors, windows among others," he said in Eldoret town, Thursday.
"Our children are also preparing to sit for national exams with such exercises in schools it will disrupt learning due to poor concentration," he added.
He, however, urged parents to take good care of their children during the fourth coming long holidays.
"I want to call upon parents to stay with their children and not sent them to their relatives, this will help to monitor their behaviors," noted Bor.
