As Kenyans were busy lashing out all sorts of insults at the Congolese bad boy Koffi Olomide, renowned singer Suzzanna Owiyo took a unique perspective all together.

Ms Owiyo boldly confronted the social media judges who crucified the Kinshasa music king, thereby becoming the only shield the deported Koffi got from Kenyan celebrity quotas.

She critiqued his actions but maintained a firm stand that the issue was misdirected by the Kenyan social media fraternity.

Owiyo posted a statement on her Facebook account correcting what she felt was partial judgment by the Kenyan online community.

“Either way, we’ve been too hard on the Congolese Musician (sic) Aka Mopao, Koffi Olomide," she posted.

Owiyo went on to state that the Youth and Gender Cabinet Secretary acted in favor of social media pressure, saying that as humans we are all prone to wronging others and later regretting our actions.

According to her, Koffi’s apology was enough and this act did not warrant deportation after a humiliating arrest.

She based her argument on the blind eye Kenyans have for the rampant local cases of violence against women and accused the responsible cabinet secretary of remaining silent when those in power mess.

“We’ve heard similar cases before but victims still walk away unpunished. The manner in which we our (system) has dealt with untouchables' cases is wanting! The same CS will/can never utter a word on the untouchables,” posted on her Facebook timeline.
