Gor Mahia will have no time to heal from their bitter exit from the CAF Champions League at the hands of Esperance, as they await today, Wednesday’s draw of the Confederations Cup.
The team lost 1-0 in the second leg of the tie against their North Africa opponents, meaning they were eliminated after a 0-0 draw in the first leg.
The team will now play in the Confederations, which is a lesser title from the prestigious Champions League, and they will await the draw to know their next opponents.

Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier is hopeful that the club will win the Confederations Cup after exiting the Premier competition.“For the first time, I saw three officials of the opponents club rushing to the pitch to threaten the referee. For us the outcome of 1-0 points to the resilience of the boys,” he said after the team’s exit.
“We have accepted the results but we intend to make representation to CAF on the happenings in Tunis. The loss means we are going to the Confederations. On Wednesday (March 21st) we will know our opponent and we will intent to win the Confederations Cup,” he said added.
