Veteran politician Koigi wa Wamwere has said President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto can still unite the nation and convince their doubters of their ability to deliver.
In a statement on his Facebook page, the former Subukia lawmaker has urged the two to introduce a policy based leadership far from the usual one characterized with corruption and looting of public resources.
Koigi said the duo must embrace democracy and do away with dictatorship and violation of human rights in the country.
''Uhuruto must redefine leadership.Currently it only means the opportunity to plunder, grab, accumulate and enrich leaders and not to serve the people. The government must also ensure that it pursues economic development, not violate human rights, follow a democratic path and shun dictatorship,'' reads the statement.
Wamwere has also called upon Kenyans seeking secession to drop the push, urging the government to address the matter before it turns into reality.
''The government must unite the country by eradicating negative ethnicity.Equally,Kenya must reject the same to solve her division, disunity and calls for secession. The only way the government can unite the country is by complete rejection of negative ethnicity,'' he said.
