Nakuru politician Koigi wa Wamwere has hit out at CORD leader Raila Odinga and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho for naming a road after the former’s son.
Koigi criticised the move to name a road in Mombasa County after Raila’s elder son the late Fidel Odinga.
According to the politician, there is nothing Fidel Odinga did to deserve such an honour.
“It was very embarrassing for Raila Odinga and Governor Joho of Mombasa to name a road after Fidel Odinga just for being the son of Raila Odinga. While Fidel Castro of Cuba after whom Fidel Odinga is named has not named a single road after himself, despite having the power and influence to do so,” Koigi said.
The former Subukia MP said the act was a clear show that Odinga is no different from former Presidents Kenyatta and Moi who named streets and institutions after them or their relatives.
