Veteran Nakuru politician Koigi wa Wamwere now claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta is secretly involved in the ongoing push for constitutional changes.
Speaking on Sauti Ya Mwananchi's 'Cheche' Saturday evening, the former Subukia lawmaker revealed that the President is in the plot to expand the executive, a team he said also includes Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.
He noted that apart from the named inclusivity mission, the proposal also has political motives and is most likely a plan to undermine Deputy President William Ruto ahead of his 2022 presidential bid.
"This has everything to do with the 2022 election issue hence the opposition from Deputy President William Ruto who is already aware that the plan is to weaken or prevent him from succeeding President Kenyatta," he said.
"On one side is Raila Odinga who seems to be enjoying support from President Uhuru Kenyatta and Gideon Moi with Ruto being left all alone on the other side," he added.
