Nakuru politician Koigi wa Wamwere has once again condemned the Patel Farm over their dam's tragedy.
The dam broke its banks on Wednesday night sweeping away an entire village, resulting loss of lives and massive property destruction.
Speaking on Radio Sauti Ya Mwananchi on Saturday, the former area lawmaker proposed dire penalties for the Patel farm owner, Mansukul Patel, who owns the dam.
He proposed that a section or his entire horticultural farm be seized and subdivided among relatives of the victims, noting that no other compensation would be sufficient for lost lives.
"Nothing can bring back those who lost their lives as a result of Patel's recklessness and ignorance. The best compensation for them and those who lost their property would be to be given a piece of the vast farm," he said.
He urged the victims to not relent in pushing for compensation after the tragedy.
"The people have to demand for their compensation and not allow themselves to be duped into accepting small tokens or bribes in exchange for silence," he added.
Rescue mission has since been scaled down at the site, despite some families still complaining of missing relatives.
Displaced residents are taking refuge at a nearby secondary school.
