This comes amid the ongoing poisonous sugar saga, with a host of millers being grilled for reportedly importing, storing and releasing sugar stained with harmful metal deposits.

Speaking on Radio Sauti Ya Mwananchi Saturday, the former Subukia lawmaker claimed that contraband medicines are also in the country, a revelation that soon will be openly made.

Similarly, he attracted attention to expired soft drinks, harmful imported plastic rice and over mineralized water as some of the other harmful products being consumed by Kenyans.

"Apart from the heating sugar debate, there also exists expired medicines and harmful soda being consumed by our people," Koigi said.

"We also have harmful plastic rice and water with too much chlorine in some places in Nakuru, hence the rise in cases of tooth decay among our people. These too are scandals awaiting to erupt," he added.
