Koigi further laments the increase in corruption under President Uhuru's watch.

"Since Uhuru became president, corruption has increased in leaps and bounds, and despite denials and excuses, the war on corruption is lost," he wrote on his Facebook page.

According to Koigi, the anti-graft body, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, can't single-handedly tame the roots of corruption.

"If leaders are not in the fight against corruption, EACC can never win the war against corruption," said Nakuru's veteran politician.

Koigi, however, recommends four ways to successfully eradicate corruption namely; adoption of social democracy and abandoning capitalism, repealing of ethics and leadership act, annulment of Ndegwa report that allows public officers to indulge in private business and finally fighting negative ethnicity.
