Former Subukia MP Koigi Wamwere has hit the ground running as he eyes the Jubilee Party ticket to contest Nakuru Senator seat.
Koigi, who lost to Senator James Mungai in 2013 when he contested the seat on his Chama Cha Mwananchi Party, said his move to join Jubilee was not only strategic but key in ensuring that he wins the seat.
“I had to join a political party that has the support of the people of Nakuru county. In the past, I have lost elections because of being in the wrong party,” he said.
Nakuru County is a perceived Jubilee stronghold.
Others in the race include Speaker Susan Kihika, Nairobi lawyer Karanja Kabage and Jack Waihenya.
