Nakuru politician Koigi Was Wamwere now says that Deputy President William Ruto is set for a shocker in his 2022 presidential bid.
Speaking on Sauti Ya Mwananchi Radio Saturday evening, the former Subukia legislator cautioned Ruto to be very afraid of the newfound friendship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
He noted that the two will form a strong unity that will deny him the post and channel the seat elsewhere, claiming that their team-up will mark the end of Ruto's political strength.
"He should not even imagine himself occupying the Presidency as that will not happen. The reunion of the rival communities under Kenyatta and Odinga will render him a loser" said Koigi.
The close Odinga ally predicted that Ruto will soon grow frustrated and angry after it dawns on him that Kenyatta has betrayed him, breaking an earlier promise to support him in the race.
He advised the DP to not retaliate or resort to blackmailing Kenyatta's support base over his unquestionable loyalty and support to the President, urging him to seek other avenues of ascending to the throne.
"He shouldn't adopt the blackmail kind of politics after his awaiting betrayal materializes. He has to remain humble and hope to win a few hearts over his loyalty to Kenyatta since 2013 but that will still not save him from the pending downfall," he added.
