Former Subukia Member of Parliament Koigi Wa Wamwere has said Deputy President William Ruto is the target of the ongoing political activities.
Koigi referred to the recent political reconciliations and handshakes spearheaded by opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Raila has made peace with President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Presidents Daniel Moi and Mwai Kibaki.
Koigi said any move by Ruto is likely to impact on his 2022 ambition.
"Ruto is worried about the latest moves in the political arena and is fearful that they might have a negative impact on his presidential bid. He, however, has to avoid any negative reaction or confrontation with the involved leaders as it could cost him," said Wamwere on JKL Wednesday.
"He must not show any anger or portray any characteristic that can make the political dynasties decide to further sabotage his bid and is better off silent," added the veteran politician.
The DP has since raised concerns over ongoing plans to expand the executive, a move that will see the return of a powerful Prime Ministerial post.
