Former Subukia MP Koigi wa Wamwere on Monday urged the two leaders to put aside their hardline positions and meet saying that their continued antagonism is bad for the country.
Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, the former political detainee said it would be pointless to hold elections in an environment where leaders cannot sit down and talk.
"Our leaders must dialogue because that is what the country needs right now.We will be putting the country at a grave risk if we hold elections in an environment where leaders cannot sit down and talk.Let the IEBC try every means possible to bring these two leaders together," he said.
Whereas Odinga has stated that NASA will not go to the polls with the IEBC as currently constituted, the President and his Jubilee team have vowed that the poll body will have to conduct the October 26 exercise the way it is noting that there is no time left for its reconstitution.
