A Chief Executive Committee member in Mombasa has rallied residents to support Governor Hassan Joho's health sector projects.
Hazel Koitamba said on Thursday said the county government is set to roll out multiple healthcare projects as Joho embarks on his final term in office after successfully defending his seat during the August 8 general election.
"The governor means well for all of us. It's upon to accord him the necessary support for him to succeed," he told the press after a county meeting at the county offices.
Joho in October 2017 created a Vision 2035 portfolio which will be manned by Deputy Governor William Kingi.
The initiative entails coordinating 'Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani' activities which also involve modernizing the healthcare sector in the Coastal region.
Already the county government has upgraded the Coast Provincial General Hospital to a referral status.
The hospital currently receives a huge number of patients who come from various areas in the region and upgrading the hospital will cater for the needy patients.
"We are going to buy other equipment for specialised treatment like cancer. The Coast Provincial General Hospital will be equipped with modern equipment such as dialysis and cancer screening machines," Koitamba said.
