Kolanya Girls National School from Teso North Sub County topped in the number of students who qualified to join university from Busia County.
The school will send 95 students who scored C+ and above in the 2016 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education to university.
Sigalame Boys from Samia Sub County came second on the log with 85 set to join university.
Butula Boys was third with 76 students qualifying to pursue their university education while Nangina Girls also from Samia stood fourth overall with 73 students securing university slots.
However, Nangina Girls is the top school in the county with a mean score of 5.9923. They registered 2A-, 3B+, 13 B, 27B- and 38 C+.
Sigalame took second position with a mean score of 5.8967. They scored 1 A-, 6B+, 13B, 27B- and 38C+. Kolanya Girls took third position with 5.8930. They scored 6B+. 13B, 15B- and 61C+.
Butula Boys, the only other national school from Busia County, were ranked fourth with a mean score of 5.6652. They scored 3A-, 11B+, 20B, 17B- and 25C+.
Lwanya Girls from Matayos took fifth position with a means score of 5.4. They produced the top girl in the county, Purity Adhiambo who scored an A- of 77 points.
Chakol Girls from Teso South were placed sixth with a mean score of 5.4. Budalangi Boys (5.01) and Kolanya Boys (4.8) followed in that order.
This year's KCSE saw only 141 candidates score 141 As. The former Central Province led with 66As.
Nairobi had 37As, Western 25, Nyanza 9 and Rift Valley 4. Eastern, Coast and North Eastern recorded zero As.
