“We are closely monitoring the situation at Eburu Forest to avert the danger of out break of fire,” said Langat,

Charcoal burning has been the spine nerve activity for local residents owing to harsh climatic conditions, and the ban is likely to affect the livelihood of youth who depend on the activity.

The administrator expressed concern over rising wild fires in major forests in the country, and said that effort is being mounted to reduce the chances of outbreak of fires.

“Wild fires have caused environmental implications and we are carrying due precautions to avert these implications,” added Langat.

Other persons put on notice are illicit drinks brewers, who conduct their illegal business along the Eburu River.

“I will not spare those brewing chang'aaa and busaa at Eburu River as they are likely to contribute to the out break of fire,” said Langat.

The chief urged local residents to support the move to safe forests.

“Forests are source of life and I urge local communities in helping in the preservation of forests,” said Langat.
