Nyali MP hopeful Waithaka Macharia has exuded confidence that traders at the Kongowea Market will vote for him in the forthcoming general election.The aspirant said he has no doubt that most of the traders at the market are his supporters.With more than 10, 000 traders, the market is expected to play an immense role in the Nyali parliamentary race in August.Macharia joins Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Nyali MP Hezron Awiti who have are confident that traders at the market will rally behind them in August. He said he will start by dealing with runaway corruption if elected MP, arguing that the vice has affected service delivery at the market.“Corruption at the market is one of the major issues I will address,” said Macharia, as quoted by The Star.His remarks come after traders at the market appointed a new chairman, Pius Mbithi, and asked him not to take any political sides.Macharia is seeking to replace Awiti, who joined the race to unseat Joho.
