Residents of Konza village in Njoro sub-county have started an initiative where they will work closely with administrators in ensuring an end to illicit brew in the area.
According to locals, the business has messed up the lives of many productive youths in the area and led to increased crime.
Under the initiative, residents will be able to volunteer information on cases of illicit brew to the administrators.
Speaking during the launch of the initiative, area Assistant County Commissioner Lydia Mwata commended the community for such a move.
The ACC said this will help the administrators end illicit brew trade.
“Illicit brew can be brought to an end in this area if the community comes together the way you have done and say no to the same,” said the ACC.
