Combative and straight-shooting police commander Japheth Koome has revealed why the police will not allow any group to access Uhuru Park no Tuesday January 30.
Mr. Koome said that allowing access to the iconic park would result in violent confrontations between the groups who want to access the park.
''We are not going to allow anyone to access Uhuru Park on that day. I am getting infomation that so and so will be at Uhuru Park which I am not likely to allow anyway bacause if allow there will be confrontation and people will be injured,'' Koome said.
Koome's tough words come in the context of tensions over the impending swearing-in of Raila Odinga.
A group calling itself the Business Community had applied for the usage of the park on the day that NASA intends to hold its swearing-in.
