Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome has warned politicians over inciting Kenyans against one another.

While adressing journalists in Nairobi on Sunday, Koome reiterated that the police will take action against such individuals and hold them accountable for their actions.

In his view, Nairobi is the best city in the world and the police will do everything possible to protect it.

"Politicians should stop inciting Kenyans against each other. The police will take action against any person inciting Kenyans so that they can be jailed for their wrongdoings. Nairobi is the best city in the world and we will do everything possible to protect it," reiterated Koome.

The police boss further called on the media to help preach peace in the country.

He also called on Kenyans to remain calm after Monday's Supreme Court ruling on the presidential election petition.

"I call on the media to help us preach peace in the country. In fact, Kenyans should maintain peace irregardless of the outcome of Monday's Supreme Court ruling," added Koome.

Koome made the remarks in response to violence witnessed in some parts of Nairobi where both property and life was lost.
