Governor Ali Korane has finally assented the Finance Bill of 2018 into law.
Signing the document in his office, the county boss disclosed that the bill will pave way for more revenue to the county hence hastened developments in the region.
"I have finally decided to assent into law the Finance Bill 2018. It is the legal instrument that is expected to effect taxation and revenue-raising measures, including the imposition of taxes, levies and service charges," the Governor disclosed.
With the signing of the bill, it is now expected that the county will be in a better position to realise its financial targets given the fact that the national government has been delaying its remittance to the county governments.
The county government has in the past been facing challenges in passing finance bills due to disagreements among the members of the county assembly.
