According to the governor, land cartels in the county are frustrating his administration in solving and addressing land issues.

He said the county will not allow any cartel fence huge tracts of land illegally.

"Garissa has no shortage of land. We have enough land for each and every resident in need,” he said.

The government said greedy individuals who are out to grab lands will be arrested and prosecuted.

“A few greedy individuals trying to grab land to sell it out to locals in need should stop before a legal action is taken against them,” he added.

He noted that land cartels will not have peace this time around.

"Some cartels have been using my name to acquire parcels of land illegally but I want to assure that such people will not be tolerated to blackmail residents," he said.
