Led by Elder Dubat Hamey, the group asked the residents to welcome the changes with a positive mindset arguing that they are meant to improve their welfare in the next five years.
This is after Korane directed the chief officers and county executive officers to take compulsory leave as he reorganizes his government for better service delivery in during his term in office.
The newly elected county boss also recalled the sub county and ward administrators while pledging to ensure key changes in different sectors of the county.
Garissa Civil Society Groups chairman Khalif Abdi urged Korane not to relent in the fight to clear non performing workers for better administration.
“The outgoing administration was rotten with corruption and that is why the new governor has taken action,” Abdi said, as quoted by Star.
He also said that the residents of this part of the nation have been looking forward to such changes, adding that they are impressed with the new governor’s move.
“Change is as good as rest. This is the change the people of Garissa were yearning for. Let us support this government and ensure it delivers.”
