Garissa Governor hopeful Ali Bunow Korane has a predicted a massive win for Jubilee Party (JP) in North Eastern region.
Korane says that President Kenyatta’s party will sweep all the seats in the region in the forthcoming August 8 polls.In an interview with the Standard on Tuesday, Korane said that Jubilee will garner over 80 per cent of votes in North Eastern.According to the Jubilee governor hopeful, North Eastern region is satisfied with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s development agenda and will okay his re-election bid.Korane lauded Jubilee for restoring security in North Eastern. He said that terrorism and radicalization of youth had hampered the economic activities of the region.He said that for the last two years the region has experienced peace and calmness.“North Eastern residents are fully behind Jubilee re-election for its progressive development agenda,” he said as quoted by the Standard.Korane stated that the region will benefit more if Jubilee wins re-election. The former Permanent Secretary (PS) asked locals not to be confused by the opposition.He said that opposition cannot offer what Jubilee government has achieved in the last four years. The Garissa governor hopeful vowed to work with Uhuru’s administration if elected for the interest and befit of residents.The Jubilee governor aspirant said that he has a workable agenda for Garissa people. He asked incumbent Nathif Jama to prepare for a tough battle on August 8.Korane is being backed up by National Assembly leader of Majority Aden Duale who wants locals to vote out Jama.Duale claims that Jama is a letdown to Garissa people claiming that he has not championed development despite the county receiving hefty funding from the national government.The Garissa gubernatorial bid has been termed as a two horse race between Jama and Korane.Bashir Haji, who is Senator Yusuf Haji’s younger brother, is also in the Garissa governor race contesting on Amani National Congress (ANC) Party.
